President Boakai Suspends NOCAL Board Member Pending Ongoing Drug Investigation

Executive Mansion.
Executive Mansion.

The President’s action follows a briefing provided by the Ministry of Justice and the Joint Investigative Task Force, which identified entities associated with Mr. King among institutions and individuals requiring further investigative scrutiny as part of the ongoing narcotics investigation.

The suspension is an administrative measure intended to protect the integrity of the

investigation, preserve public confidence in public institutions, and avoid any appearance

of interference with the investigative process.

The Executive Mansion wishes to emphasize that this action does not constitute a finding

of guilt against Mr. King, nor should it be interpreted as a prejudgment of the outcome

of the investigation. The suspension is intended solely to ensure that the investigative process proceeds independently, transparently, and without undue influence.

President Boakai remains steadfast in his Administration’s commitment to combating illicit drug trafficking and strengthening Liberia’s institutions through accountability.

transparency, and adherence to the rule of law.

The President calls upon the public to remain calm, allow investigators to perform their

duties without interference, and refrain from speculation that could undermine the

integrity of the ongoing proceedings.

The Liberian Leader assures its citizens and international partners that all matters

connected to this investigation will be pursued thoroughly and impartially in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Liberia.
