The Ministry of Transport, together with its subsidiary agencies and the broader aviation sector, announces with deep regret and sadness the passing of one of its most distinguished, powerful, and dedicated aviators, Captain Moses K. Weefur Jr., who passed away recently.
Captain Weefur was a pioneer of the skies whose remarkable career saw him pilot complex, high-capacity aircraft across the African continent. His exceptional skill, bravery, and unwavering commitment to flight safety elevated the standard of national and regional aviation.
Beyond his exemplary service in the cockpit, Captain Weefur served with distinction as the Commissioner of the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) of Liberia, where his steadfast leadership, integrity, and investigative expertise were instrumental in advancing air safety and regulatory standards.
The Ministry of Transport and the entire aviation and Transport sector will deeply miss his profound knowledge, resolute leadership, and immense contributions to the nation’s airspace operations. His legacy as a master pilot and dedicated public servant leaves an indelible mark on the aviation fraternity.
The Ministry extends its profound condolences to the family, friends, loved ones, and colleagues of Captain Reeves during this time of bereavement.
May his soul rest in perfect peace.
