Executive Director Johnson Engages UL Students on Public Procurement Reform

The Executive Director Bodger Scott. Johnson of the Public Procurement and Concessions Commission (PPCC) was invited to deliver a lecture at the University of Liberia, where he spoke on public procurement and the critical role of the Commission in ensuring transparency and accountability in government processes.

The session brought together a vibrant group of students and proved to be highly engaging and interactive. Students showed a strong eagerness to learn, asking numerous questions about the functions of the PPCC and the broader procurement landscape in Liberia.

During the lecture held on Wednesday, April 20, 2026, Mr. Johnson provided valuable insights into the mandate of the PPCC, its regulatory responsibilities, and the importance of compliance in achieving value for money in public spending. He also highlighted the role of procurement in national development and the need for integrity within the system.

Students actively participated throughout the session, raising thoughtful questions about procurement procedures, existing challenges, and career opportunities in the field. Their enthusiasm reflected a growing interest in governance and accountability among young people.

Mr. Johnson appreciation the invitation and commended the students for their curiosity and engagement. He encouraged them to take an active interest in public sector processes and to position themselves as future leaders who will uphold transparency and ethical standards.

This engagement forms part of the PPCC’s ongoing efforts to strengthen public awareness and build capacity, particularly among the youth, as a means of promoting good governance in Liberia.
