The President of Liberia, His Excellency Dr. George Manneh Weah has nominated the chairman and five other members to the Board of Commissioners of the Public Procurement and Concessions Commission (PPCC).
The nominated officials include Bodger Scott Johnson and Mardia Jallah as chair and co-chair respectively. Others are Roosevelt Woods, Robert Clarke, Matthew Kantah and Martha Korpu as members of the Board of Commissioners. They were nominated in accordance with subsections (2) through (4) of the Public Procurement and Concessions Act. They are expected to face the Liberian Senate for confirmation hearing.
The Board of Commissioners has a total membership of seven, including a lawyer from the office of the Attorney General, who shall be nominated on the advice of the Attorney General.
Also, the President has appointed Mr. Stevenson S. Yond as Officer-In-Charge of the Public Procurement and Concessions Commission. Mr. Yond has been mandated to run the day-to-day affairs of the PPCC pending the confirmation of the nominated members of the Board of Commissioners and subsequent recruitment of the Executive Director. All correspondence or communication from Procuring Entities and different stakeholder groups, including development partners shall be addressed to the attention of the Officer-In-Charge.
