The waiting room of the Public Procurement and Concessions Commission (PPCC), was on Friday, September 11, 2020, a scene of excitements when five senior and junior staffs received accolades for their commitment to nation building and dedicated services to PPCC, Government and people of Liberia. The staffs were formally retired in August 2020 consistent with the Civil Service Agency’s standing rules and guidelines on pension and retirement, which set age 65, poor health, and tenure of service as conditions for retirement of staffs in public service. The retirees included Joseph S.D. Suah, Sr., Director of Finance and Administration, Anthony P. Tarbah, Sr., Director of Compliance and Monitoring, Lysander B. Wokpeh, Director of Policy, Standards and Procedures, Dennis Taylor, Secretary, and Fasine Kamara, Driver. One of the retirees, Mr. Anthony Tarbah, did not attend the program due to ill-health, but was represented by his daughter as reflected in the photo. The Chief Executive Officer, Atty. Jargbe Roseline Nagbe Kowo, bestowed the honours on the retired/outgoing staffs through hand delivery of certificates, small cash donation and gowning of the staffs with well-designed African shirts to appreciate their works and contributions. Atty. Kowo thanked the honourees for their support and unbending commitment to her administration. The program was attended by relatives and friends of the retirees and PPCC staffs, including the acting chairperson of the Board of Commissioners, Hon. Bodger Scott Johnson, who also made remarks and thanked the honourees for their support and long years of service to the Government of Liberia. In response, the retirees expressed their gratitude to the PPCC family for the high level of co-existence while actively executing their roles and responsibilities. They also thanked the Commission for retiring them in such a grand style. "I can now leave with my head high up" this was all that I wanted since the news of retirement came to me," remarked Mr. Lysander Wokpeh, outgoing Director of Policy, Standards and Procedures.
